FACSIMILE JACKETS
I started buying a lot of books as a teenager, and the first thing I would do when I got them home was to throw away the dustjacket without a second thought. I suppose I felt like the cloth spines made my collection seem more classic and official. Well, now I always keep the dust covers on and for those who wish they could retrieve classic covers they hastily threw out, there are companies that print beautiful copies (a few shown above). I will admit that I still toss the most thoughtlessly-designed covers. Maybe I'll need to start a Hall of Shame at some point...
