BOOKSHELVES
ERNEST HEMINGWAY'S FINCA VIGIA
Even I have to agree that it's possible to have too many books in a house (not to mention hunting trophies), but Hemingway pulled off the books-in-every-room look quite nicely in his Cuban home. His 8,000+ volume library was divided onto clean white shelving nearly everywhere (I especially like the bathroom bookcase) without looking like they were overwhelming the place. And lest anyone look at his collection and think he was an egghead sissy, he paired some shelves with lion skulls (last photo) as super-tough accessories.
