We'll be installing more and more in the next few days, so come by Friday, April 5th from 6:30-9:00 PM to say hi, and shop an amazing selection of fine vintage books you wont see on our website, new magazines, our popular book furnishings and small goods galore. One night only! Questions? Drop us a line at info@book---shop.com

BOOK/SHOP X PETTINGELL

We've been working lately with Pettingell Book Bindery in Berkeley California to create some beautiful new products exclusive to BOOK/SHOP. Pettingell (in continuous operation since 1926) is currently owned by Klaus Rotzscher, a German native with 40 years of experience in fine binding (as well as a black belt in Okinawan-style karate). Klaus is a master artisan with an exacting eye and really fantastic workspace. You can see more about the Bookcloth Bookends and Bookmark Notepads he's produced for us here, and check out a few shots from his shop below.

JULY, 2012 ISSUE

Very excited to have been included in Popeye Magazine's July 2012 print edition (as part of a fantastic longer article on SF area book culture). Very sad my scans are so awful.
